As a teenager, Beckham played on Manchester United’s youth squad, leading it to a national championship in 1992. The following year, he joined Manchester United’s professional team and helped the team win the league title and FA Cup during the 1995–96 season. An August 1996 goal by Beckham (roughly equivalent to a hole-in-one by a golfer) caught the attention of the nation.

After defending its league title, Manchester United was named Young Player of the Year, and Beckham took home the award. As a result of winning the league title, the FA Cup, and the European Cup in 1998–99, Manchester United won the title of champions. Most Valuable Player and best midfielder were awarded to Beckham. The 2002 film Bend It Like Beckham homaged his kicks as one of the sport’s elite players.

He helped Manchester United win three more league titles (2000, 2001, and 2003) before joining Real Madrid in 2003. MLS (Major League Soccer) club Los Angeles Galaxy signed him four years later for a record deal. When the MLS off-season ended in October 2008, Beckham signed with AC Milan. An MLS Cup title was won by the Galaxy in 2011.

At the end of the 2012 season, Beckham left the Galaxy after winning a second MLS Cup championship. A season after joining Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), he helped the team win the French domestic title. After winning the PSG championship, Beckham retired from football.

David Beckham Professional Career:

As a Manchester United youth player, David Beckham was part of the legendary ‘Class of 92’. In 1992 Beckham made his debut for the senior team and in the January of the following year, he signed his first professional contract with Manchester United.

The right-sided attacking midfielder returned to Manchester United after loaning out to Preston North End in 1995. As a result of Sir Alex Ferguson’s faith in the youth players, Manchester United won the Premier League and FA Cup the following year. In the same year, he also made his first appearance for England at the international level.

He played an important role in the Manchester United side that dominated English football in the mid-to-late 1990s, winning the treble (the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the UEFA Champions League) in 1999. While playing for Manchester United senior for eight years, Beckham scored 262 goals and won six Premier League medals. At the time, Beckham was considered one of the world’s greatest midfielders.
